Foundation:
Book sharing is a fundamental part of your child’s early literacy experiences. We are delighted that we have a class of very enthusiastic book lovers. On some days our book boxes are nearly empty! Thank-you to our parents for their support in introducing the routines of borrowing and returning books and, most importantly, sharing books regularly with their child. It is important that we continue to foster a love of books and support the children as they begin to read independently.

KS1:
During Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2), it is just as important for your child’s reading development that you read to him or her, as it is that he or she reads alone.
Your child will be given a diary in which to keep a note of books that he or she has read. Write your own comments in it after reading with your child. You can also jot down any questions you may have in here.
