Music
Singing is a key feature in our music curriculum and the children have the opportunity to sing together once a week. Our school choir performed at The Apollo Theatre Oxford in July 2001 and The Royal Albert Hall in November 2003.
The music curriculum is further developed in class sessions and children compose pieces using appropriate software. Every week a different child plays piano in assembly so that the children become competent public performers. There are art, drama, dance and music clubs after school.
Children have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of musical instruments including recorder, flute, clarinet, drums, cello and piano. They listen to the music of different composers and analyse, evaluate and compare musical pieces. All children have the opportunity to perform in a school production, which often includes music.
