Maths

Pupil at Watlington Primary SchoolChildren have a daily maths lesson. They learn about numbers and the number systems, measures and shapes, and use and apply their knowledge to solve practical problems. They also learn how to compile information in a variety of forms and interrogate the information to make logical conclusions. The children have lots of opportunities to explore mathematical concepts through play and maths games throughout the school.

Since September 2004 children have been taught a differentiated maths curriculum by their teachers and opportunities for support and extension have been put in place. An advanced skills teacher for maths was appointed at the same time.
