History and Geography

Watlington Primary SchoolWe allocate time in the curriculum to ensure that the children are taught History and Geography in some depth.

We aim to develop the skills of enquiry so that our children gain an understanding of time through studies like 'Toys from the Past' and 'Life in Ancient Greece'.

We use the locality to learn about the Civil War and children have the opportunity to extend their understanding during visits to museums and galleries.

They learn about contrasting localities through projects such as 'The Rainforests,' on residential visits and The Comenius project.

They learn about global citizenship and how we can learn from events in the past.
